Keyboard shortcut for closing tab doesn't work

I see this too. (In my case Cmd-W).. Basically I want to close the current selected tab just from the tab picker list. In my case Cmd-W is closing the Fast-Tab-Switcher window. (If it needs to be another shortcut key/combo that's fine.
