According to the 2020 roadmap, the old Boostnote snippet functionality will be separated out as a seperate app.

Is this still the plan? I am currently using the old version because I use Boostnote exclusively for code snippets.

Thanks!

@linusgg Sorry for my late answer. The roadmap is outdated and we're currently cleaning up the whole ecosystem of our repositories. What I can say right now is that we definitely still want to provide the snippet feature.

@Komediruzecki @linusgg How do you think about the snippet feature? Should we still make it as a separate app or include the snippet feature in this local app?

Thanks, that's great to hear!!
Personally, a single app is probably better for Boost Note as a product. It also adds an additional marketable feature to the paid version.

My main use case for the snippet feature is to save a piece of code or command. I will often add a bit of description as a code comment. And these complement my regular text-based notes (markdown).

The key things for me are full-text search and plain code editor without markdown formatting.
I don't want to add the code block style (```) every time only to later remove it after being pasted to my IDE or terminal.

Hi all,

I didn't really use the snippet feature that much, so I'll investigate how it works and see what makes more sense.

I'll compile basically all old (legacy boost note) app, requested, and in-progress features by the end of this week and create a new roadmap for boost note local.

We could even add a poll to let users vote for the most important/best feature they would like to see next and prioritize development based on that.

I'll let you know when the roadmap is ready but we are planning to publish it almost everywhere, following the project kanban board on a repository with all tasks entered and laid out.

@linusgg @Komediruzecki
I've already known that there are not many people using both features at once. I just want to make a confirmation. Then, let's make a separate app. I think I can do it as a toy project. I'll make a separate repository and close this issue!
