Currently there are certain Labels whose reason for being is not specified.
Please review the labels not in use and delete them or clarify their meaning.

As a project maintainer, I want to have a sparse and concise selection of labels to avoid ambivalence.

The labels are used for backlog management/pruning. Specifically,

  • wontfix - used for feature requests or bug reports that will not receive attention. E.g. a 'bug' report that is actually how the feature is designed to function, or an enhancement request that is contrary to the goals of the platform
  • invalid - used to indicate that an issue is not relevant to the project
  • duplicate - used to indicate that an issue duplicates a previously filled/prioritised feature

The labels are a concise way to indicate the reason that an issue was closed, without requiring project managers to read issue discussions.
