Feature request: filter out mentioning project source if project is closed & member doesn't have that source #1079

Background - we are switching to a new NS data uploader, and would like to sunset the old one so it's not displayed prominently to confuse people after the new uploader/source is live. The core projects using this uploader type will de-select the old project type and switch to the new one. But, people with less knowledge who want 'all the data types' and have the urge to click and accept all data sources in a wide-ranging project may get confused and confuse the joiners of the project if they request both (old and new) uploaders as sources.

Right now the main options only appear to list the old project/source as 'closed', preventing new joiners to the old uploader, but it remains in view on the site.

Feature request

Add filtering so that if a project requests a data type that has been marked as closed, and a user doesn't have the data, it's not listed to them as an option for the project.

I think that makes sense, if a project is marked as closed there's no way for people to join it any longer and it adds confusion for new members. 👍
