I'm pretty sure Mexico City is the world's biggest city in terms of taco consumption. The main objectives of hosting a TacoConf in Mexico City would be

  • Be inclusive without falling in the temptation of trying such a thing as a hard shell taco
  • Dispell the notion of burritos even existing in modern day Tenochtitlan
  • Have a great conference about food, technology and interesting topics

  • Green sauce or Red sauce.
  • The way you hold a Taco, with the little finger pointing up or not.
  • 'El Taquero' must have an epic moustache.

With regards to places, I'm thinking:

  • El huequito
  • Tacos Frank
  • Tacos Gus
  • El turix?

Those seem cool places.
Regarding logistics: we can have a large amount of attendees or quite a large order and the place won't be DDoSed.

However, on those locations there are two important missing: Fish tacos & tacos árabes.

I think we should add:

  • El pescadito
  • Don Eraki
  • El hayito (?)

for previous tacoconfs i visited each place weeks ahead of time and talked to the owners just so they know to expect it. its kind of amazing how fast e.g. a taco truck w/ 2-3 staff can feed 40 people. one truck was operated by a mom and she had her 2 little daughters set up a horchata/aguas frescas stand especially for us, it was pretty amazing

Hadn't thought of that. How did you estimate attendance?

we just guessed... I think we have averaged about 60 people for the tacoconfs so far, some smaller some larger
