The kernel log console is typically all empty; it doesn't contain any visible text at all. Is the kernel console broken somehow, or is this caused by race condition? Investigate why, and fix the underlying issue here.

Update: sometimes it seems to work, I saw it working in qemu GTK right now (i.e. GUI qemu).
