Study getting rid of serialize for fetch

We have a serialize function to be used in conjunction with fetch. This function allows us to pass an object into our custom fetch implementation with static typing. But could we get rid of this by overriding/extending the fetch type automatically? We just need to allow that object shape into the fetch body.
