We've gotten feedback from the field that users would like to see more examples in the alerting documentation. Creating this issue to track requirements.

I hear from developers and SREs that with GitOps they want to programmatically create alerts. With the expansive number of options available for each alert type, it can be difficult to navigate writing the command.

I hear from users they want more create examples for each different type of alert that we have. At the moment the create documentation only contains a single example for creating an index threshold rule.

This did come up a while ago at a talk in our Prague meetup from a former Elastician (Honza Král). A recording of his talk is available in the comments of that page if you want to take a look.

Hope that helps!
