@jwittenbach played the current version, had some very useful comments / issues:

  • He didn't like the inconsistency of how backwards works, namely that it moves you backwards while in a path, but not while at a choice point. If we keep the current behavior in paths, we could make it so backwards sends you backwards from a choice point, but then you can explore the entire thing backwards, which is a bit weird.
  • He suggested that using the back key and/or the left-right keys to do a 180º (as we had it before) might be more intuitive, and FWIW I noticed him trying to do this without me explaining anything.
  • He found that if you get to a dead end, and hit forward, you get stuck and can't move backwards. Not sure the cause but this is definitely a bug, will open a separate issue about it.

I also do not like the snapping behavior when you press turn keys as you enter a choice point
