The following errors are generated when adding an MSI to Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy for software deployment.

Product: XXXXX -- The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2727. The arguments are: DesktopFolder, ,

This is because the DesktopFolder and ProgramMenuFolder are not added to the Directory table at compile time so the GPO can't determine the shortcut target folder(s)

Manually adding the missing entries to the Directory table via windows app Orca fixes the issue and the MSI then is correctly added to GPO. However this is sub optimal where automated builds are generated on Linux.
