It can be slow, but perhaps if a player advances milestone events in one worlds WAY more than another, that world becomes more "active" for the player and the stamina loss in that world will be slower, causing the player to gravitate for a decision.
The stamina bars for the two worlds are always the same amount, but as you pass milestones (little 'checks' in the programming to see how you are doing) the stamina in one world decreases slower, and the other decreases faster. To complete both worlds in one run, you would have to switch between the two as you pass milestones.
