Hey folks.... going to put the +'s and deltas here and make some new issues to address deltas. This isn't me expecting you to continue on and drag you into an ongoing task. (Though I won't stop you. ;) ) This is me letting you all know what we heard so you can incorporate into any future teachings how you see fit.

Also, thinking of making this a Global Sprint project. Any thoughts / objections?

1st half

• Quiz checkin to make sure folks are on the same page (+1)
• Small group work (+1)
• Great prepwork & slides & links (+1)
• Use of etherpad (+1)
• Hands-on activities -> quicker learning (+1)
• Names of examples in quiz incl women & minotiries
• Enthusiasm

2nd half

• responsive instnotes (?)
• friendly presenters :)
• open materials
• great to have multiple TAs
• could make a full day- 1/2 same as today's 1st half, if people want more opt to stay for afternoon
• super well-prepared

DELTAS 👎

1st half

• Visualize the branching / merging definition for clarity of how it works (+2)
• Also the fact there are multiple meanings for "branch" in our practice exercise
• some pre-work to get concepts and have more time for hands-on in the workshop
• structure of the relationships of each feature; diagram preferred
• live coding the process rather than slides (sugg from @gallingerj)
• more on branching & when to use
• sometimes hard to understand when multiple instructors talk at once
• demo before letting us try or use it
• mics for large room
• add piece in setting up repos abt turning on issues & notifications (sugg from @stephwright)
• use etherpad as central place for links & resources to keep from having to jump betw that and website and slides for links

2nd half

• would have liked table-sized groups after the break - hard to keep up from the back of the room
• command line demo seemed out of place - didn't add anything from my perspective since everything else was about GitHub only
• instruction w/ more specific tasks w/ pre-built items so everyone is doing the same thing i.e. get a hyperlink on the webpage
• totally lost in the demo on doing things on command lines
• I hear most students use APIs to connect/upload stuff from local machine (i.e. R studio) to GitHub. Slightly tech-advanced.
