To avoid stretched images with monospace fonts where character are not 2:1 sized, it may be necessary to additionally resize the image before sampling.

Iosevka, Pragmata, Hermit, many third party coding fonts tbh.
Variants of anything with Narrow or Condensed in the name, too.
