this was pulled from request, although @koichik originally wrote the code for request. we should figure out what differences there are, if any, get them merged and kill this project.

Oh i understand it's really a work-in-progress now (i refrained myself from opening similar issues on other request
dependencies). Sorry for the trouble. Let's keep this open to prevent someone else opening a similar issue.
