Do we want a domain other than *.netlify.com to enable next docs site also?

Given we will have either: multiple releases at any given time OR a next release to capture all upcoming, but not released yet items (in development for V1 purposes), it would be ideal to have additional subdomains for releases. Example: next.versionone-components.com versus versionone-components.com. I am making up the domain name here, but in order to enable this, we need to set up a custom domain; meaning we would need one. What is this domain name? Is this important or are randomly generated URLs ok for next/other non-main releases?
