Hello @Priyanshu1609 it seems brownie has troubles to execute ganache-cli, try to follow this setps:

reinstall ganache-cli using npm.
create a new python virtual environment (use this as ref).
install eth-brownie in your new virtualenv.
run the project.

Hello @Priyanshu1609 it seems brownie has troubles to execute ganache-cli, try to follow this setps:

reinstall ganache-cli using npm.
create a new python virtual environment (use this as ref).
install eth-brownie in your new virtualenv.
run the project.

I have used pipx to install brownie I don't require to create an env as per the guide

You'll have some troubles using pipx, for example vscode won´t recognize brownie and you'll have import errors, use pip instead ;)

I ran into the issue @~9:04 in the video. I completed the above steps (*note to non computer scientists; activate virtualenv in visual studio code not in cmd window). Not sure whether these steps did the trick, but they certainly didn't hurt.

I had to go back to the points in the video where we configured our network ( 5:59:40 and 6:28:40) and create a new network which forks from infura. When I try forking from alchemy I get the 'Able to launch RPC client, but unable to connect.'. However, I THINK that this was an improvement from what I was getting prior to installing the virtualenv which was something like 'unable to launch RPC client...'::. Can't say for sure - I've been messing with this for two days straight now so hard to recall.

With or without the virtualenv activated the code as it stands at 9:04 :11 in the video works when I use a mainnet network which forks from infura (*note that this requires changing the network name in the three files which reference it; config, aave_borrow, and helpful_scripts)

I am also struggling with this issue. Here's my situation:

Running VSCode with WSL terminal.
Brownie v1.17.1
Ganache CLI v6.12.2 (ganache-core: 2.13.2)

While following the video, when I get to the command brownie run scripts/deploy.py I get the same error that Priyanshu had. I followed cromewar's advice and installed and activated venv in the project folder. But I still get the same error when Brownie tries to load ganache-cli:

Use pip to install brownie or else donot use wsl . Use windows it will work fine.

I changed to Powershell, reinstalled everything (following this guide: https://iamdefinitelyahuman.medium.com/getting-started-with-brownie-part-1-9b2181f4cb99), did some troubleshooting, and I got the hello to print.

I found your thread and noted you wrote '[WSL2 ONLY!]'. I am unfamilar with Linux and WSL2. Is a windows user a WSL2 user? In either case now - after installing it, shutting everything down and reloading -, I activate the virtual env and type 'nvm current' and it tells me its running 16.13.2. I double checked that it still returns the error 'able to launch RPC client, but unable to connect' when I try to fork through alchemy.

In my case connecting to Alchemy gave me
"brownie.exceptions.RPCProcessError: Unable to launch local RPC client."
but connecting to Infura instead of Alchemy worked without any other changes:

brownie networks add development mainnet-fork cmd=ganache-cli host=http://127.0.0.1 fork=[Infura endpoint http] accounts=10 mnemonic=brownie port=8545

Hello @Cryptomatyk
You can try to change the host to: 0.0.0.1.
Also if you are using an updated version of ganache the cmd is just ganache, not ganache-cli.
Finally be sure your endpoint on alchemy is properly set up.
