In Firefox 55.0.3, Stylish 2.0.7. After some update (Stylish itself, or Firefox) Edit button along with Write New Style button became broken — they do nothing on press. In the same time about:stylish-edit and about:stylish-edit?id=1 pages works properly.

All other addons was disabled for testing. Stylish addon was re-installed. Didn't help.

I can confirm this on Windows-7. Strangely, on my Linux machines I didn't have the issue (yet?) … Also, I didn't update either FF or Stylish (the addon was last updated 8/2016 btw) between the last time it worked and now.

As there are other issues where e.g. an open tab with about:home provokes exactly that behavior (#293 – not open here): Tried it with a fresh new profile and no other tabs open?

Use xStyle stylish is abandoned, xStyle is lot better by the way.

@mikhoul thanks for the pointer – there're also Stylus and Custom Style Script, but that's not the point here. None of them can deal with "userChrome styling", and as long as that's available with a GUI and I haven't migrated that part to userStyles.css I'll need this one here working. And I'd wonder if I'd be the only one 😉

I can confirm it's something with about:home that causes the issue. And I'm with @IzzySoft I use Stylish mostly for my userChrome stylings, any replacement needs that.

I was able to fix it for me on Waterfox (yes, I've switched) as pointed out here. Luckily, WF accepts unsigned .xpis 😉

Don't be irritated: the linked post refers to Stylish v2.0.7 while the latest non-WE Stylish is v2.1.1. It's still the same fix in the same line, even the line number given is the same.
