Styles don't get applied if tab is loaded in background

I use FireFox 59.0.2 (64bit) on macOS 10.12.6

I often open links while holding the cmd key, this opens the link in a new tab in the background.
The userstyles won't get applied to those sites. I have to reload the page while active to apply userstyles.
