Description

Adds support for the Lingo programming language, created for Adobe Director.

Note that excluding the biggest contributing organisation, Lingo likely does not currently meet popularity requirements.

Lingo? Holy hell, that's a name I've not heard since 2007.

Lingo likely does not currently meet popularity requirements.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure it ever will. GitHub's code search only indexes files that've been modified or published within the last few years, making it that much more difficult to gauge the eligibility of once-popular programming languages. Because Adobe Director was considered an antique even 15 years ago,1 it's likely that the majority of Lingo scripts on GitHub are situated in repositories that haven't been touched in a very, very long time.

Footnotes

  1. By whom? Well, everybody in my animation class at TAFE, at least. (Hey @dsarajlic, remember Julie's animation class at TAFE? Where we had to animate a scene in a program with a single-level undo history? Good times).

@Alhadis No doubt, I only discovered it because I was archiving / exporting from a 23 year old game 🙂

Just in case it does have some bizarre resurgence (hey, you never know!), I thought the PR would be good practice at Linguist's flow if nothing else!
