@JLChnToZ JLChnToZ released this 01 Jan 08:40

This version updates the project to VCC, which includes a newer version of UdonSharp. Please note that this project is not yet a curated package, and I will update it at a later time when I have the opportunity.

In addition, due to recent rumors of a kidnapping case within the VRChat community and concerns about privacy, I have made a small patch to the synchronization logic. The gimmick now respects the user's current time zone settings when requesting synchronization. This means that if you change your time zone settings while in a world with this gimmick, it will update when it synchronizes, either when someone joins or leaves (which will trigger automatically) or when someone clicks the resync button (if the world creator has included it).

For those concerned about privacy: please note that this gimmick DOES NOT use any IP address information. It only reveals your computer's time zone settings, and the coordinate on Earth is only an APPROXIMATION of a point within the time zone region. For example, if your computer is set to Tokyo Standard Time (JST), this gimmick will always show your location as Tokyo, regardless of whether you are actually in Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, or even outside of Japan (as in #2 PR). Simply put, using VPNs/proxies will not affect which coordinates are shown, but time zone settings will.

Even with this update, there are still many worlds that have not applied the update (or have not yet migrated to VCC). If you are concerned about others knowing your time zone or approximate location, you can change your time zone settings to "fool" others, but please note that this will require a restart of your VRChat client, as the older version of this gimmick seems to cache your time zone in its process.
